The Hobbiyuk, April 15, 2006

BVR Yipiyuk (Mink Dumbo male born here in the BVR on 9/16/05 out of BVR Walk On The Ocean x FSTR Sayyadena) x ANR Hobbit On The Rocks (Charcoal Patched Dumbo female born in Boston in ANR Rattery on 8/2/05)

Litter born April 5, 2006 at around 6pm EST. I got to watch them come out, it was very exciting! Hobbit decided to lay on her back and have the first few, and I got to see EVERYTHING, it was so amazing and wonderful. 13 were born, and we lost a sickly runt at 1 week of age - a blue girl, sadly.

The purpose of the litter was to help bring back my whitespotting line, which I meant to cross into my Russian Cinnamons and didn't get the chance. Since Hobbit carried nothing but safe (no megacolon) whitespotting and American Blue, she was a good vehicle for it - the only undesirable trait I need to breed out is the American Blue. She's also amazing hefty for a girl, strong-boned and has fabulous eyes and ears. Yipiyuk is a nice, heavy boy who's really cuddly and sweet, though his ears aren't great and his eyes are a bit close together, his head and rump are nicely shaped. Hopefully Hobbit will balance out his faults.

Looking for the best markings in this litter, as they will all carry Mink with a chance of Russian and American Blue, my best cross from here will be to a Russian Cinnamon or as close to one as I can get.

Babies will be available to reserve on May 3 and can go home on May 10. The litter theme is - Dr. Seuss!
